The Post-Christmas walk – January 2026

16 hardy members (and 6 dogs) braved a chill easterly for a walk around Frensham Pond and surrounding common.    Mustering in the carpark, boots, scarves, and gloves were donned whilst Gordon did his best waiter service taking our pre orders for lunch.  Setting off after hot drinks we went counter clockwise around the pond before crossing the road to the common.  A slow steady pace enabled much conversation whilst walking with people – catching up on others’ tales of Christmas and the past year.  Whilst on the common and descending, Martin was seen heading the other way with just one of his two dogs. Back at the clubhouse we tucked in to some hot tucker and engaged in more chatter. Martin arrived sometime later having found the missing dog – or did the dog find Martin? Adri was, as usual, very much in the thick of the conversation – her forthcoming Clipper adventure leg was envied by many although some reflected on their own experiences and admitted to thoughts of “rather you than me”.

Thanks must go to Gordon and Jenny for organising the event.
