Rutland Day 3

The forecast was for more wind and occasional heavy showers. We got blocks of half an hour of F2-3 or F4-5. Some reefed, many sailed and some practiced MOB. We took lunch on the terrace, and then when one suggested cake, another said “yes, but at the Cafe on the far side” and that was our final mission. Some biked, some sailed, we all returned about 5pm and busied ourselves with packing. All bar three left, and it was so cold outside that an early night was declared. Day 4 was busy throwing all in the car before the rain started, and travelling home.

It was a good location for trying new things in the relative simplicity of non-tidal waters, and meeting friends old and new. Thanks to Martin for proposing and organising the event, and to RSC and the campsite for hosting us very nicely.
