The wind forecast was force 5-6 so the camp began in a leisurely manner with members arriving and pitching during the day.
Simon and Alan, plus Roy and Jenny went for short sails around the islands, the rest enjoyed not sailing in such strong winds. The night was stormy with several hours of strong winds and rain, some torrential.
We are sharing the enormous field with two other groups, the largest being Sea Cadets from Salisbury. As is required, their blue ensign is lowered at dusk and raised at dawn. They have a fleet of Zests and Quests and windsurfers, supported with rigiflex safety boats.
Addendum: They were excellent co-campers – we managed to work together collegiately on the beach and on the water, and they remained quiet and respectful campers throughout the week.
