Cobnor Spring Camp 2022

The first Cody Sailing Camp of the year was a return to the scenic site near Bosham at Chichester harbour. We welcomed new members to the club at this camp Simon C, Jocelyn and Julia; all had a good time. Most people took a few days off work and attended from the Thursday and sailed in wonderful weather up until the Saturday; sunny with some wind.

With a high tide near the middle of the day cruises were done with a lunch stop at the top of creeks taking the flood to the destination and the ebb tide back, this including a sail to Prinsted which is at the top of the Thorney channel and also stopping off at East Head. By the weekend there was lack of wind but a few gentle sails were had including one to Del Quay and a chance to stop for lunch at the scenic Del Quay sailing Club who invited us in to their cafe, plus a few more sails up the Bosham Channel and to Chichester Yacht club for lunch.

On the Saturday evening we had a communal BBQ and a small camp fire and were treated to some excellent music round the fire from Mel on vocals, Steve guitar and vocals, Henry and Mark on guitar. Some excellent talent in music!

Despite the light winds at the weekend, all had a good time and when not sailing had some nice walks around the Chidham peninsular.
