13 boats took a late sail with the flooding tide towards Haverfordwest up the river, to see how far we could get. The F4-5 was tempered by the surrounding hills, with a particularly difficult, vortex laden and mostly still 200m of high-sided channel just North of Larwrenny.
The distance on the map is 13 miles.
The sun shone occasionally, with bubble clouds powered by the SW wind. The channel up by Hook becomes shallow very quickly and caught a few of us out. Two single handers had no respite on the sail and sailed very well. The wind really got up from Lawrenny on the return journey.
It was a highly enjoyable adventure.
