We were meant to sail at 10:30 taking the last two hours of the ebb and there was some industrial strength faffing, mostly by those who didn’t sail the day before. We got away by 11:05.
The run down through the moorings was lovely in a gentle breeze and the spinnaker reach past Durgan had our boat humming on the plane.
As we turned Nare Point the ebb tide whipped up steep wind-over-tide waves for a choppy beat to tack off Porthallow. The beat into the beach was fretful.
The return journey was blustery, the wind different in strength and direction continuously.
Some stopped at the Shipwrights Arms for drinks and pizza, some came straight home.
Jack and Isaac wanted to see how fast they could go and having sailed sensibly and with the fleet all day, so just before coming in they whizzed about and capsized and found out many things… about neck seals…

Overall it was an excellent sail and physically difficult.
