Rutland Day 1

Some arrived on Friday night, and some on Saturday morning. Mel and Steve in the Trio, Andy and Vanessa in the Vision and new member David with Martin in David’s Cormorant took to the water in the morning to sail the dinghy trail.
The sun was full and the shifty breeze from the NNE F2-3. Taking different routes we converged and landed for lunch at the Marina Café. The most dodgy menu item was a cheeseburger pie…
We continued the trail to the furthest extent and beat back towards the centre of the horseshoe as a loose fleet.
Meanwhile Jamie, Ella, Cora and Gordon played off the beach in various combinations supported by Claire onshore.
We finished about 4-5pm and had a group tea and cake before we separated as a group and repaired to a couple of different pubs because no one pub had guaranteed capacity for us all.
As I sit here now on a picnic bench at Rutland SC the sun is setting, the breeze is still in and the cuckoo’s singing.
