Poole Day 4

There was a slightly startling storm surge last night which flooded the camping field from the slipway to the north east opening that looks down the harbour. The loo and pumping station were flooded. If we thought it was higher at lunchtime than ever before, this was properly flooded. Our boats parked just over the road from the slipway were in sea water and we brought them up to the tents.

On the road in, the concrete road that goes over the reeded area was under sea so we turned round and came round the sheep gravel road on the way back from the curry house.

The sea would have had to come up a further half metre to affect the tent, and according to the predictions the first high crested here about 22:30.

The wind was howling…

The next named storm delivered a Westerly F6-7 all day so no sailing was attempted and we had a Holiday In Dorset.
