An early morning start to the day saw 10 boats sail to Gillan Creek and right up to the millstone on the bank for breakfast.
We started by launching at 7am, and were all away by 7:10.

The weather was drizzly and overcast with limited visibility, and there was a decision made to continue at the Helford Passage only because we were hugging the South shore to Gillan. We could see the North shore at all times, but only as an outline. The beat up the creek was interesting as the wind was predictably unpredictable, and we made it to the millstone only 10 minutes after our plan, and yet the tide waits for no languishing breakfast and we scoffed the food we took with us and skedaddled into deeper water just as the level was falling.
The sail back was in a variable force wind with moments of F5 over a F3 base wind from the SW.
Bottle Rockets
A bottle rocket competition organised brilliantly by Alan brought many of the field to the natural amphitheater of aeronautical dreams, with a competition for longest flight, most complicated addition (like a parachute) and the rocket that got Alan the most drenched. Third prize was Isaac for best Parachute, Second prize was Rob for best drenching, and Zak won best flight time with an impressive 4 seconds and a 1L tonic bottle with fins and a carefully crafted weighted and pointed nose-cone.
