Rutland Day 2

The Met Office weather warning of lightning and heavy slow moving showers provided an exciting context for sailing on Rutland, although the first thunderous downpour and squall came over us about 5pm. Storms to the East and West of us skirted the reservoir all afternoon.
Before then the wind was a calm F2-3 and the weather was both sunny and cloudy with occasional showers. Many people sailed locally with other people or single handed. Some spent the afternoon on the sailing club terrace, chatting and enjoying the thunderous and complex cloudscapes in the distance.

As a crew of seven we went to a curry house in Oakham for an excellent social evening together.
