Poole day 8

The day started cold and overcast with a cutting wind, and we set off well wrapped up. Simon, Alan and Steve in a Trio and Sandy and James in the club Trio reached in a SW 3-5 to Rockley for coffee and muffins. We watched the many families on the beach playing on the sand. About 13:30 we left the lee shore in a F4-5 and broad reached to the harbour entrance, rounded Brownsea and beat up Blood Alley, round the top of Furzey, through the channel between Furzey and Green, and then snuck into the creek with barely enough water to sail. For those familiar with this, the centreboard over spilled with mud and we had no centreboard or rudder we barely scraped in.

it was a glorious sail in beautiful sailing grounds with lovely colleagues.

Meanwhile, Clive took his sea kayak from Cleavel to Round Island, east of Round and Long and into the landing area on Arne. From Arne to Poole Yacht Club for a latte and free cake before returning to Arne, then West of the islands, over to Green and back to Cleavel.
