A doggy day out at the Witterings

A social walk, guest edited by Sybil the Cocker Spaniel

After the usual tedious drive, we arrived at West Wittering Beach. It was good to have sand between my claws again, some sun on my back, but sadly no birds to chase – it was too windy.

Those humans don’t understand that us doggies just want to get going, not all this coffee drinking nonsense. Still, it gave me time to get to know some new friends – Tilly, Nugget and Cara.

Tilly had her owner, Rob, well trained at tennis ball throwing, which prompted Phil and Jo to get my favourite squeaky ball out. I have to admit I was a bit nonplussed when Nugget commandeered it and I wasn’t at all sure about his blue claw varnish. But I had Cara to run around with, and Mum had bought sausages, so all was good!

Tilly was very brave and went for a swim, whilst Nugget and I stuck to paddling as it was a bit chilly. Amusing watching Cara ignore Simon’s whistles, the secret is sausages people. I had some nice cuddles from Jackie and Anna, and I was secretly hoping that I could ‘make friends’ with the furry beast on Stephen’s head!

We stopped for a photo at East Head before turning back for home. No boats there – too windy!

All told 20883 steps, 31292 tail wags and two sausages – a fun day. A round of a-paws to Stephen for organising.
