The year’s second trip to Cobnor coincided with some very pleasant early September weather. Thirteen people, two spaniels, one Labrador and a Dachshund enjoyed camping at the Cobnor site. The first day (Friday) was a bit light on wind but sufficient to allow a slow sail up to Del Quay.

On the Saturday the cruise went ahead to East head and Hayling island in a good wind which supported a most enjoyable Spinnaker run back to the camp. In the evening there was a good display from a Spitfire; this was right overhead and was assumed to be a practice for an airshow.

On the Sunday most packed up early with the threat of heavy rain. That didn’t arrive in the end so one boat sailed to East Head and met up with Emilita (Jenny and Roy’s yacht) hosting Emma and Rob H on board. Andy and Vanessa also visited on the Saturday in Yacht Caramba. A very pleasant camp overall and great base for some nice cruising in the shelter of Chichester Harbour.
